Meet Lynn Cociani

Lynn Cociani has always had an artistic side. However, when she became a mom, she made art her full-time business. Doing so has provided her with the opportunity to earn an income doing what she is passionate about, and has also made it possible for her to be available at home for her children. "I love the flexibility it gives our family, and I am very grateful to be able to use my creativity to bring joy to other people," says Lynn. "Art is a huge part of who I am. I feel lucky that my work is doing what I love."

Lynn has lived in various places, but none of them have made quite the impact on her that Prince Rupert has. "I love having that sense of close community, and the way that people pull together to make things happen," she states. "I love seeing my friends everywhere I go and feeling connected to the community as a whole. I have never experienced that feeling when living in larger cities." Plus, she is continually inspired by the natural landscape and the ocean here, providing her with an endless source of ideas and subjects for her artwork. Not only that, but Prince Rupert has been a wonderful place for her to raise her family.

Lynn is an animal lover, and many of her works of art depict animals. She is a strong supporter of the Prince Rupert Wildlife Shelter and often donates proceeds from her art to shelters and animal adoption groups. When she isn't busy creating art, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking and hanging out in the local coffee shops. "Coffee shops are my big weakness," she confesses.
